At SchengenTrack, we believe your travel history is personal and should remain yours. Our privacy philosophy is simple: We do not want your data. Our platform is built on a "Privacy-by-Design" architecture: we run no accounts and no application database, and your travel data is processed and stored in your own browser.
1. Zero Server-Side Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or see the travel dates, countries, or stay durations you input into our tool.
No Accounts: You are not required to create an account or provide an email address to use the calculator.
No Personal Identifiers: We do not ask for names, passport numbers, or any other personally identifiable information (PII).
2. Local-First Processing
All calculations for the 90/180-day rule, including "Earliest Possible Entry" and "Full Reset" dates, are performed locally within your own web browser using JavaScript.
Your data stays on your device at all times during the calculation process.
3. Data Storage (Browser Local Storage)
To provide a seamless experience, SchengenTrack uses your browser’s Local Storage to remember the dates you’ve entered.
This allows you to close the tab and return later without losing your progress.
You can permanently delete this data at any time: remove a single stay with its "Delete" button, remove everything with the "Clear all" button above your stay list, or clear the site data in your browser settings.
4. Secure Data Syncing (QR & URL Encoding)
Our sync feature allows you to transfer your data between devices (e.g., from PC to mobile) without a database.
How it works: Your input dates and countries are encoded into a compact Base64 string in the part of the URL after the #. This keeps the link short and portable, but it is not encryption: anyone who has the link can decode the travel dates it contains, so only share it with people you trust.
The QR Code: The QR code generated on our site is simply a visual representation of this URL, created locally in your browser.
What our infrastructure sees: SchengenTrack keeps no application database and never stores these links. Browsers do not send the part of a URL after the # to the server, so the travel data in a sync link never reaches our hosting/CDN provider or its access logs. (Links created before this change carried the data after a ? instead; those may appear in the provider's standard, short-lived access logs when opened.) Neither of our analytics tools records this data.
5. Analytics and Cookies
We use two analytics tools to understand site traffic and improve performance.
Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless): Our site is delivered through Cloudflare, and we use its privacy-first Web Analytics to count visits and measure page-load performance. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and does not record URL query strings, so the travel data inside a sync link is never logged. It reports aggregate figures such as pages visited, referring sites, browser/device type, approximate country, and page-load timings. Because it does not store or read anything on your device, it runs without the cookie banner.
Google Analytics (GA4), consent first: Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept it in the cookie banner. If you decline, the Google Analytics script never runs and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
When enabled, Google Analytics may collect usage data such as page views, browser/device information, approximate location, and interactions on our pages. It may use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits and session activity.
Neither tool receives the travel dates and stay records you enter into the calculator; those remain processed locally in your browser. We do not use either tool to track your activity across unrelated websites for advertising purposes.
6. Contact Form Processing and Spam Protection
When you submit a message through our contact form, the form data is processed by Formspree, a third-party form handling service, so your message can be delivered to us.
The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA may collect information such as device/browser data and interaction signals as part of its verification process.
Please do not include passport numbers or other sensitive personal information in contact form messages.
7. PDF Report Generation
When you generate a PDF report, the document is created entirely within your browser.
The information shown on the report is never uploaded to our servers or stored in any cloud storage.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
